From the desk of Dr. David Duizer ND:
Please help me welcome our newest ND to the team at Noble, Dr. José Peralta! Dr. José has spent his career in three different worlds of medicine, and with Noble he brings all three into one room to provide the highest level of holistic care.
A New Doctor Has Joined Our Team
At Noble we are looking for three things when we add a new ND: training, experience, and a passion for helping the person in front of them. Dr. Peralta has all three.
Here is who he is and how he can help you and your family get and stay healthy:
He Trained as a Medical Doctor First
Dr. Peralta was born and trained in Argentina. There he earned his medical degree and became a licensed family physician. He practiced primary care for several years.
Then he went looking for something his training had not covered. Most of medicine is built around disease. How to name it. What to do once it has arrived. Dr. Peralta wanted a deeper understanding of health, and of the whole person it belongs to.
That search brought him to Canada, and to naturopathic medicine. He completed his Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine.
Today he works from two full medical trainings at once. He knows the tests, the medications, and the language of the conventional system from the inside. Alongside that, he brings clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, acupuncture, and lifestyle medicine. He builds the plan around the person in front of him, and he looks for the root of the problem rather than quieting the symptom.
That same search is what led him to chronic stress, and to sound therapy.
What He Helps Patients With
Dr. Peralta welcomes a wide range of general family concerns. New patients are welcome. If you are not sure whether he is the right fit, that is a fine reason to book a visit and ask.
He has three areas of special interest:
- Stress and burnout. Long days, high pressure, and a body that never fully switches off.
- Nervous system regulation. Poor sleep, a racing mind, feeling wired and tired at the same time, and the sense that your body will not power down.
- Digestive health. Reflux, IBS, bloating, and gut symptoms that come and go without a clear reason.
Why Stress and Digestion Show Up in the Same Visit
Long term stress is not only a feeling. It is a physical state. When the body stays in that state for months or years, it changes how you digest food, how you sleep, how you store energy, and how you handle the next stressful thing. That is why one person under pressure gets stomach pain, another gets insomnia, and another simply runs out of fuel.
This is where the phrase “it is just stress” does real harm. It is often used to end the conversation when really it could open one.
Dr. Peralta treats stress as a finding, not a dismissal. If stress is driving your symptoms, the next questions are the useful ones. How long has this been going on? What is it doing to your sleep, your gut, and your energy? What can we measure? And what will actually change it?
Being told it is stress is not an answer. It is a starting point.
Sound Therapy, and Why He Uses It
Dr. Peralta is also a sound therapist. He has practiced this work for ten years.
In a session, he uses Tibetan bowls, crystal bowls, chimes, a native drum, and tuning forks. You lie down and rest. The sound and the vibration do the rest. Many people describe it as one of the few times their mind fully slows down.
Sound therapy sits alongside the clinical work: the history, the lab testing, the nutrition, and the medicine. It is one more way to help a nervous system that has been stuck in high gear learn how to come down again.
For patients who have tried to relax on command and failed, this can be a helpful door in.
Coming This Fall: A Free Evening on Burnout and Stress
Dr. Peralta is putting together a free evening talk at our West Broadway clinic. We are aiming for this fall.
The plan is simple:
- What burnout actually is, and how it differs from ordinary stress
- How to spot the early signs, before it takes a year of your life to recover
- What a naturopathic doctor can offer, including what we test and what we treat
He will close the evening with a short breathwork session and a group sound therapy session.
We do not have a date yet, and seats will be limited. Register your interest now and we will tell you the date before it goes public.

One Last Thing
If you have been carrying something for a long time, you have probably been told to slow down. To sleep more. To worry less. You have probably tried all of it.
The trouble with that advice is that it puts the whole job on you. It assumes that a body under strain will simply reset once you decide it should. That is not how it works. A nervous system that has been running hot for years does not stand down because you asked it nicely.
It stands down when something changes underneath it. That is the work. That is what Dr. Peralta trained twice to do.
We are glad he is here. We think you will be too.
Warmly,
Dr. David Duizer, ND, CSCS
