GI MAP – GI Microbial Assay Plus
Understand your microbiome for optimal digestive wellness
Precision therapy in digestive conditions
GI MAP is a stool sample DNA test and it able to detect parasites, bacteria, fungi, and more, by targeting the specific DNA of the organisms tested. Its accuracy and reliability allow practitioners to create personalized treatment protocols to address gut dysfunction based on which infections are urgent, which areas of the gut are already optimized, and which areas should be addressed after an infection has been resolved.
What is the GI MAP?
The GI MAP is an incredible test that gives Noble Naturopathic Doctors the abilty to evalute your microbiome. This innovative clinical tool measures gastrointestinal microbiota DNA from a single stool sample.
GI MAP was designed to help patients recover from functional and pathological digestive conditions. It does this by detecting microbes that may be disturbing normal microbial balance or contributing to illness as well as indicators of digestion, absorption, inflammation, and immune function.
Other markers include:
- H. Pylori
- Opportunistic / Overgrowth Microbes
- Antibiotic Resistance Genes
Who should test GI MAP?
Almost every patient can benefit from a GI MAP gut health assessment but it is mostly reserved for evaluating complex digestive issues that have not been resolved by other means, are causing significant burden to the patient’s quality of life or could have possible lead to another health issue (ie. the holistic approach in autoimmune disease).
Some patients are looking to achieve optimal health via GI MAP results, while other patients have been chronically ill and frustrated without a diagnosis for years.
Some conditions that warrant testing are:
- Autoimmune diseases
- Digestive complaints, diarrhea or constipation
- Brain fog
- Skin problems, like acne and psoriasis
- Mood disorders, depression, and anxiety
- Diabetes and weight loss issues
- When testing infants, GI-Map can provide insight into conditions related to ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), Autism, anxiety and digestive complaints.
