BOOK

At Noble, we believe that personalized cardiovascular health must begin with precise measurement, and the most important metric of all is VO₂max.

As the most reliable indicator of cardiovascular fitness and longevity, we use VO₂max as the foundation of your cardiovascular assessment. It provides a real-time reflection of how efficiently your heart, lungs, and muscles work together to deliver and use oxygen during exercise.

Whether you’re training for performance or striving to prevent disease, VO₂max gives us a true baseline from which we build a customized support plan for your heart and metabolic system.

We offer in-clinic VO₂max testing using the PNOE metabolic analyzer, the most advanced system available today. With this insight, we are able to assess aerobic capacity, detect respiratory or metabolic limitations, and determine the exact training zone needed to enhance cardiovascular resilience.

We Build Your Program Around Objective Lab Data

At Noble, clinical decisions are not based on guesswork. We use detailed, evidence-informed laboratory assessments to evaluate your cardiovascular, inflammatory, metabolic, and insulin signaling systems. These biomarkers help us build personalized recommendations in the areas of:

  • Targeted supplementation
  • Individualized nutrition
  • Lifestyle modifications
  • Training prescriptions

By using these tests, we’re able to track your progress, refine your plan, and ensure that your body is responding as expected. Below are the key assessments we use in our cardiovascular optimization programs:

Our Cardiovascular Lab Suite

Lipoprotein & Cholesterol-Based Testing

  • NMR Lipoprofile
    • What it measures: LDL particle number, size, and distribution.
    • When it’s used: For patients with normal cholesterol but suspected risk based on family history or lifestyle.
    • Why it matters: Smaller, dense LDL particles are more atherogenic than larger ones, even when LDL-C is “normal.”
  • Lp(a) – Lipoprotein(a)
    • What it measures: A genetically influenced lipoprotein variant associated with high cardiovascular risk.
    • When it’s used: In patients with early cardiovascular events, strong family history, or unexplained plaque buildup.
    • Why it matters: Elevated Lp(a) is a significant independent risk factor not detected by standard panels.
  • Oxidized LDL
    • What it measures: The level of oxidized low-density lipoproteins.
    • When it’s used: To assess oxidative stress and atherogenic potential in real-time.
    • Why it matters: Oxidized LDL is highly inflammatory and plays a major role in plaque formation.
  • Triglyceride/HDL Ratio
    • What it measures: The ratio of fasting triglycerides to HDL cholesterol.
    • When it’s used: Routinely as a low-cost, high-impact screening marker.
    • Why it matters: Ratios above 2.0 in mmol/L indicate insulin resistance.

Essential Fatty Acids

  • OmegaCheck
    • What it measures: Red blood cell membrane levels of omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA).
    • When it’s used: In anyone interested in reducing inflammation and optimizing cardiovascular, cognitive, and joint health.
    • Why it matters: An optimal omega-3 index (>8%) is protective against heart disease and arrhythmia.

Inflammatory & Vascular Health Markers

  • Lp-PLA₂
    • What it measures: An enzyme involved in inflammation of arterial plaques.
    • When it’s used: In those with borderline or elevated LDL, or a family history of cardiovascular disease.
    • Why it matters: Elevated Lp-PLA₂ suggests unstable plaque and active vascular inflammation.
  • hs-CRP (High-sensitivity C-reactive Protein)
    • What it measures: Low-level systemic inflammation.
    • When it’s used: For monitoring chronic inflammation, response to therapy, and CVD risk.
    • Why it matters: Elevated hs-CRP is associated with higher heart disease and stroke risk, even in healthy individuals.
  • Homocysteine
    • What it measures: A by-product of methionine metabolism.
    • When it’s used: When B-vitamin deficiency, clotting risk, or cognitive decline is a concern.
    • Why it matters: Elevated homocysteine is a known risk factor for arterial stiffness, stroke, and dementia.

Metabolic & Insulin Function Testing

  • HOMA-IR and Fasting Insulin
    • What it measures: Insulin resistance score (HOMA-IR) and baseline insulin levels.
    • When it’s used: In weight gain, prediabetes, PCOS, fatigue, or plateaued fat loss despite effort.
    • Why it matters: Insulin resistance is often the root cause of cardiovascular, metabolic, and hormonal dysfunction.
  • Visceral Adiposity
    • What it measures: Estimates intra-abdominal fat based on the InBody bioimpedance scores.
    • When it’s used: For patients with central obesity, metabolic syndrome, or cardiovascular risk.
    • Why it matters: Visceral fat is more metabolically active and inflammatory than subcutaneous fat.
  • Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM)
    • What it measures: Real-time blood sugar trends every few minutes for 14 days.
    • When it’s used: In clients with insulin resistance, hypoglycemia, fatigue, or food cravings.
    • Why it matters: Glucose fluctuations directly influence vascular integrity, energy, and metabolic aging.

The Value of Tracking and Iteration

These labs clearly show how your body responds to your current plan. We don’t guess, we measure, implement, and refine. With this data in hand, we can design a cardiovascular strategy that changes as you do, maximizing your potential while minimizing risk.

We deliver personalized medicine through real data and targeted care.
